On February 24th, Mandy Patinkin will be singing at the Highlands Church in Scottsale, AZ.

Before he was an Emmy-winning TV star, Mandy Patinkin was already a Tony-winning Broadway legend. Mandy Patinkin in Concert: Being Alive, presents the acclaimed actor/singer/storyteller in his most electrifying role: concert performer. “Mandy Patinkin is in the business of showstopping,” raves The New Yorker, and that’s exactly what he does in this powerful, passionate evening of song. Being Alive is a collection of many of Mandy’s favorite Broadway and classic American tunes. From Irving Berlin to Stephen Sondheim, from Cole Porter to Harry Chapin, Mandy Patinkin sings all sorts of great songs from Jazz and Broadway composers.

In March, there is world famous violinist Augustin Hadelich performing on March 11th. We are lucky to have him perform in Scottsdale!  Augustin Hadelich is one of the great violinists of our time. Known for his phenomenal technique, insightful and persuasive interpretations, and ravishing tone, he appears extensively on the world’s foremost concert stages. Hadelich has performed with all the major American orchestras as well as the Berlin Philharmonic, Vienna Philharmonic, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic, and many other eminent ensembles. He rose to fame after he won the 2006 Indianapolis International Violin Competition.  Hadelich holds an Artist Diploma from The Juilliard School, where he studied with Joel Smirnoff, and in 2021, was appointed to the violin faculty at Yale School of Music. He plays a 1744 violin by Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesù, known as ‘Leduc, ex Szeryng’, on loan from the Tarisio Trust.

Hadelich received a GRAMMY “Award for Best Classical Instrumental Solo” in 2016 for his recording of Dutilleux’s Concerto “L’Arbre des songes” with Seattle Symphony and Ludovic Morlot. A Warner Classics Artist, his most recent album “American Road Trip”, a journey through the landscape of American music with pianist Orion Weiss, was released in August 2024. Other albums for Warner Classics include Paganini’s 24 Caprices (2018); Brahms and Ligeti Violin Concertos (2019); the GRAMMY-nominated “Bohemian Tales”, which includes the Dvořák Violin Concerto with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and Jakub Hrůša (2020); the GRAMMY-nominated recording of Bach’s complete Sonatas and Partitas (2021); and “Recuerdos”, a Spain-themed album featuring works by Sarasate, Tarrega, Prokofiev and Britten (2022).

Augustin Hadelich is both a German and American citizen.  He was born in Italy to German parents.  He had a tragic accident happen to him early in life. In 1999, at age fifteen, Augustin Hadelich was badly burned in an accident at the family farm in Tuscany, Italy. He was hospitalized with extensive burns to his upper body, face and right hand, putting his career, not to mention his life, at risk. The next two years included months in the hospital, twenty surgeries, slow rehabilitation, pushing past pain, doubt, skepticism that he’d ever play the violin again, much less perform professionally. But he persevered, made his way back, and after all that, in 2006 was when he won first place in the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis! Overcoming this kind of adversity and triumphs against tremendous odds steals my heart. One cannot help but admire his courage, bravery, and determination to express his music against all odds.
